The random alignment of the village creates in itself so many ambiguities of perspective the symmetric foundation of this composition remains concealed. Intentionally the vertical and horizon axes lie precisely inside the open doorway in which the altar cross is just visible. Intuitively I made the distant alpine profile continue across the texture of the wall and become the shadows cast on the house up the lane.
