Andrea Mazzoli
About Andrea Mazzoli
Andrea Mazzoli b 1964 Italy
Andrea Mazzoli lives in the Friuli-Venezia region of north-east Italy. His small village, hidden amongst the mountains of Val Colvera is listed as one of the most beautiful in Italy. Its rural architecture includes stone houses with flower filled inner courtyards and pathways. Mazzoli's popular Porta (or Doorway) Series of paintings are of the entrance ways to these homes. Since the early 1990s Mazzoli has concentrated on creating wildlife and natural landscapes for the European market, working in oils and mixed media.
Mazzoli's smaller works of tiny finches and birdlife from the Messenger Series are particularly appealing and although the subject matter is traditional, Mazzoli introduces a touch of modernity through the handling of his dry-brushed backgrounds. A skilled artist when it comes to portraying and capturing the energy of the natural world in uniquely presented works of art.
