This small bronze figure, engaged in a joyful, uninhibited dance was inspired by the free-spirited Freda Stark. Stark was a famous dancer from the 1940's who performed at Auckland's Civic Theatre. Often dancing in little more than gold paint, she became a pin-up girl for the American serviceman stationed here.
