Italian Ceramics - Carlo Mirabasso Tue, 14 Jun 2022
From Umbria to Auckland come the uniquely beautiful Italian ceramics of Carlo Mirabasso. From a red Ferrari flanked by cypress trees to azure blue Tuscan skies, cascading geraniums, Roman archways and rainbow-winged angels Mirabasso mirrors the magic of bella Italia.
Born 1959 in Tivoli, Rome Carlo Mirabasso has lived for many years in a small village close to Assisi, which in itself is the source of inspiration. In the early 1990's he began painting his first metaphysical compositions, perfecting the personal, pictorial style seen in his ceramics and paintings. The artist's playful touches of modernity, contrast interestingly with references and backdrops of neo-classical and renaissance architecture. His work is stylish and enchanting with wide appeal. Exhibitions have been held throughout Italy, with shows in Rome, Milan, Verona, Brescia, Vicenza, Padova and further afield in Marbella and New York. Carlo is represented exclusively in the Southern Hemisphere by International Art Centre, New Zealand.
